Oaklands Mansion, Saturday, March 28, at 4:00 p.m. the mansion will host MTSU College Transfer Fellow, Audrey Creel as she presents “The Untold Story of the Maney Family Slaves: A Cast Study of Slavery in Murfreesboro.” Come early and stay late, from 3 p.m – 3:45 p.m. immediately before the presentation enjoy free self-guided tours of the mansion. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served, donations will be accepted.
Easter Egg Hunt, Sunday, March 29, from 2-4 p.m. at MTSU’s President’s Lawn, free and open to all families with children 12 and under. Please park in the Parking Services Lot located on East Main St. in Bishop. Hosted by MTSU College Panhellenic

QUILTS, OLD AND NEW, Saturday & Sunday, April 17-18, presented by The Stitch Show and Share Quilt Guild of Sparta Tennessee at the Agricultural Building at the White County Fairgrounds in Sparta. The show will have over 250 antique, traditional and art quilts on display. If interested in submitting a quilt for display, registration forms must be received by March 7, 2020. Quilts must be received between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Thursday, April 16. Show hours are from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Friday, and 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday at the fairgrounds located at 565 Hale Street in Sparta.
HOMETOWN HEROES WALK FOR CHILDREN will be held on Friday, April 24, 2020 at the Murfreesboro Civic Plaza, downtown on the square. Registration begins at 10:45 a.m., speakers at 11:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 12 noon. Complimentary Rover shuttles will run from the Child Advocacy Center to Civic Plaza from 10:30-11:30 a.m. This FREE event will conclude with a picnic lunch at the Center, 1040 Samsonite Blvd., Murfreesboro.
